Amazing how so many of us here have the same story. Our Dads loving this album and playing it over and over. It comes to mind whenever I think of him.

My dad (passed away in June '20) @ 81 had and played this album all the time when I was a kid. Great memories of weekend nights when he let me stay up late :}

One of my Dad's favorites. He would actually borrow it from the public library. That was over 50 years ago! I'll have to find a copy.

Like most of the other people on here, I grew up hearing this frequently! I have Dad’s original copy, and found an unscratched version at a Church bazaar some years ago. I was Thrilled as Dad had recently passed and I felt like this was him sending me a gift from Heaven!

It’s 2020 and I’m actually listening to this album on my 1968 magnavox Astro sonic console. Found the album at a yard sale and started to read all of the text on back of cover. It’s all in pristine condition. I never heard of it before but for one dollar I thought I’d buy it. It’s so incredible. I can clearly hear the jets roaring by just like it explains. I’m transported back in time every time I fire up the big 5 1/2 foot long stereo. It still has no problem shaking the house.

As I listened to this album in 1973 a much senior friend explained to me the military ceremony of pass in review, the eagle patch of the 101st Airborne, the dragon patch of the 18th Airborne Corps, and the All American patch of the 82nd Airborne. He spoke from a platform of experience. He spoke the unvarnished truth. How the army was, when it was good it was the best, when it was bad, it was the worst. Little did I know, I was hooked. Joined the Army in 74, marched in my first 82nd Division review in 75, and participated in many there after. A division review is something to behold. And to participate in one, getting ready for the event is a pain in the neck, but then to pass in review, what a feeling. It's the best.

Gracias nuevamente amigo.

How many of you remember/realize that side 2 (USA) was used during the opening ceremonies of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics? Along with the complete version of the John Williams Olympic March, it was, musically, one of the best openings ever!!

Fantastic! I'm so glad to have searched YouTube for this. I played the heck out of that album back in the early 60s. I was about 10 at the time and I still have that album. I kept my 40+ year old Technics SL-1700 turntable exclusively for this album, but the last track, Stars and Stipes Forever, is quite worn so that when the flutes are playing the sound is particularly distorted. Although they are still a bit distorted here, (poor microphones at the time?) the sound is much better than my copy. The Stars and Stripes arrangement just blows me away every time I listen to it. Thank you so much for sharing this.

My dad had this album in Mono when I was little. When we finally got a stereo record player, I still have a terrific memory of  Christmas morning. We'd gotten the Stereo version for him. We worked out the timing to the exact second and hit with the Fanfare (beginning) first thing Christmas morning. He was thrilled!! Miss you, Dad.

What a wonderful surprise! I used to listen to this album back in the 60's in Bolivia! I also became a drummer at my High School band, the Anglo American School in Oruro, Bolivia, and incorporated some of the drums beats to it! Thank you for uploading it!
