Maria Cristina Mel de Almeida Costa (Rio de Janeiro, March 10, 1964) is a Brazilian singer of contemporary Christian music. He has been nominated for the Latin Grammy 3 times and is sixteen times winner and record holder of nominations of Talent Trophy.
A singer is formed in letters, studied English and Spanish, but had a troubled adolescence, because of family problems. At the age of fifteen he attempted suicide.
But it was at sixteen that the singer converted to Christianity, becoming evangelical. From then on, a singing began in the choir of the Baptist Church of Tauá, in Rio. After a while, Natan Brito, the vocalist of the group Banda e Voz and Isaías Costa, the group Shaddai discovered a singer and sent a demo tape to a record company that released his first LP, entitled Tá Decidido. From 1992 to 2005 she released more than 20 albums, besides having passed several record labels.
On July 4, 2005, he again signed a contract with a Records Line and even a song released on the live album The Songs of My Life - 15 years live, commemorating his 15 year career. I brought in Soraya Moraes, Marcelo Nascimento and Kades Singers. The album was nominated for a Latin Grammy.
In 2006, she was a first Brazilian singer to be allowed to do a project in partnership with The Vegietalles, an outstanding project in the USA, launching the project on CD and DVD (2007)
